MPH/Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT)

Students from this program earn a Master of Public Health degree from the Brown School and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree from the Washington University School of Medicine. The program of study requires 123 credit hours, taken over three and a half years.

With the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) degree, you will be eligible to sit for the NBCOT examination to become a practicing occupational therapist.

MPH/MSOT joint degree graduates will fill a significant need locally, nationally and internationally for healthcare professionals who are trained to address issues of prevention, participation, everyday functional performance, habilitation, and quality of life in persons with chronic disease, disability, or sociocultural disadvantage. Graduates will be prepared to work in a diverse array of settings including academia, community agencies, government institutions, and nonprofit organizations, and to assume leadership roles in public policy, urban planning, and advocacy.

Application Information

You must apply separately for the MPH program through SOPHAS and the MSOT program through the School of Medicine. Washington University graduate students currently enrolled in the MSOT program, wishing to add the MPH, should apply through SOPHAS Express.
