Evaluating the Impact of Irrigation Pumps

In 2009, Brown School, the International Food Policy Research Institute, and KickStart International teamed up to conduct a three-year study to evaluate the impact of KickStart's irrigation pumps on health, nutrition, education and income among East African farmers.

KickStart's mission is to alleviate poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa.
By developing and marketing low-cost technologies, such as irrigation pumps for subsistence farmers, KickStart’s efforts are
not only impacting poverty, but also addressing issues of education, health, and nutrition.
