Dr. Patricia (Trish) Kohl, is an Assistant Professor at the Washington University's Brown School. Dr. Kohl’s professional mission is to improve child outcomes in systems of care through the careful application of parent training services. She currently has three funded projects (an NIMH R03, a CDC U01, and a NICHD R01) which all address issues in this realm. Dr. Kohl is currently working to 1) adapt an evidence-based parent training program to increase father participation, as well as to improve father-child interactions and 2) to bring an evidence-based parent intervention to the child welfare service sector. Her work also includes analyzing data from the National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-being, a landmark study of children and families who have been investigated for child maltreatment. Dr. Kohl’s work has received financial support from the National Institute of Mental Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute for Child Health and Human Development. Dr. Kohl received her PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006, after which she joined the faculty of the Brown School.
