Fifteen Brown School faculty named Institute for Public Health scholars
Fifteen Brown School faculty were appointed as scholars with Washington University's Institute for Public Health. These scholars, appointed for three-year, renewable terms, were selected on the basis of their research and teaching interests in public health and willingness to engage in collaborative work with other Institute scholars.
Currently, the Institute has 130 faculty scholars. Social work school Dean Edward F. Lawlor is the Institute’s founding director.
Brown School faculty appointed include:
Scholars are eligible for small team grants to foster interdisciplinary programs and projects. They also will be invited to attend and participate in Institute programs, lectures and workgroups on public health issues.
Scholars also will work with a University network of individuals already conducting public health research and be encouraged to collaborate on multidisciplinary research and program development projects.
Over time, the Institute will develop infrastructure to foster collaborative public health research, teaching and service across the University.
