This New Jersey native says he drifted into social work. “I don’t recall exactly how I became interested in the profession,” Anthony claims.
He cites his grandmother, also a social worker, as influencing his decision to get a social work degree and to attend the Brown School. And during high school and college, Anthony volunteered as a tutor, getting a preview of some of the valuable skills he would learn in graduate school.
“As a tutor, you learn how to build on people’s strengths. You also learn patience and listening skills. These skills have helped me in graduate school and will be an asset in my career as well.”
Anthony says that the Brown School allows him to combine his interests I sociology, political science, economics, and clinical social work. A mix of ingredients that he equates with his other passion: cooking.
“At the Brown School, I can mix different tastes, flavors, and textures together into something new, different, and tasty.”
