MSW & MPH Program Proficiency Exams

Passing a proficiency exam will exempt you from taking the associated course. Although credit toward your MSW or MPH is not earned, it does allow you to take additional approved elective courses.

We encourage all incoming students to take the proficiency exams. You may take the foundation course exams only during your first semester.  Click Proficiency Exams MSW 2011-12.pdf or Prof Exams MPH 2011-12.pdf for details.

The exams are offered in during Orientation in August and in October. You may not take a
proficiency exam in October if you are currently enrolled in the associated course. You may take each proficiency exam (except the Human Biology Proficiency Exam) only once.

The tentative dates and times for Fall 2011 Proficiency Exams are:

Dates: Monday, August 22, 2011
