The following requirements apply:
- Your earned your BSW from a CSWE-accredited institution or program.
- The content of each course for which advanced standing is sought is consistent with the Brown School’s MSW course work.
- You received a grade of "B" or higher.
MSW students who are awarded advanced standing complete between 44 and 63 credit hours of course work (depending on the number of advanced standing credit hours awarded), which includes a required course for BSW graduates: “Evidence-Based Practice Skills for BSW Graduates.”
We also require a social work statistics course for those who have not completed an undergraduate Statistics course with a grade of “B” or higher.
